Thank you for your request for information relating to Non-permanent staff spend.

We are now able to provide the following information:

While VIA East Midlands may be owned by Nottinghamshire County Council it is a separate entity and therefore do not have any access to its records or information, any request would have to be directed to VIA East Midlands, therefore our responses are for Nottinghamshire County Council, only.
 
1.)Does Nottinghamshire County Council VIA East Midlands (The wholly owned subsidiary of Nottinghamshire County Council) have a contract of any kind in place with any agency for the provision of temporary workers that fall into the category of Administration, catering, refuse collection / driving, waste recycling and street cleaning
Nottinghamshire County Council have a neutral vendor managed service provider.

 
2.) If yes to the above question, who is the contract with, when did it commence and when does it expire
Nottinghamshire County Council’s Managed Service Provider (MSP) is Matrix SCM. The contract started on the 6th May 2024 and ends on the 5th May 2027 with an option to extend for a year.


3.) How much did the Council spend on agency workers falling into the category of Administration, catering, refuse collection / driving, waste recycling and street cleaning for the period April 2023 to March 2024 & April 2024 to March 2025.
The information below is from May 2024 to March 2025, from the start of the contract with Matrix SCM. For 2023/24, as Nottinghamshire County Council had a different MSP, this detail of information is not accessible.

  • Catering - £58,234
  • Refuse Collection – £0
  • Driving - £677,695
  • Waste recycling – £0
  • Street cleaning – £0

4.) Who would be responsible for awarding a temporary staffing contract for the aforementioned job categories for Nottinghamshire County Council and Via East Midlands, please could you confirm the name of the individual and their position and role within the organisation, please can you provide the persons email address.
