London Road, Newark (FOI/4892)

Message from Nottinghamshire County Council - 30 October 2024

Dear *****

Provision of requested information – Ref: FOI/00004892

Thank you for your request for information about London Road, Newark, which we received on 11 October 2024.  Your request has been considered under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR).

The information you requested is:

  1. Please confirm the depth of the surface course on London Road, Newark. – Information not held; we would need to undertake a core sample to establish this.

2. Please confirm when the particular inspector who identified the pothole at a category 2 on the 15th December 2023 on London Rd, Newark was randomly inspected prior to that date. Also how often random audit inspections are carried out per inspector. – Audit inspections are not stored against an individual, they are stored against the street asset.  These are random inspections pulled from the system randomly from completed inspections, not an inspector.

3. Surely you should have a system of identifying how many potholes designated category 2 but move to a category 1 within 28 days. Otherwise without measuring it, you are failing to prevent damage to cars and people. – Information not held.

Your privacy: we use your personal information such as name and address so that we can comply with our legal obligations to respond to EIR requests.  For further details about the use of information about you, please see the information handling privacy notice on our website at https://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/media/4323566/informationgovernanceandinformationrightsprivacynotice.pdf.

If you are unhappy with the way the authority has handled your request you may ask for an internal review.  Please contact: Complaints and Information – Team Manager, Nottinghamshire County Council, County Hall, Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, NOTTINGHAM, NG2 7QP or [email protected], who will arrange an internal review of your case.

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision.  The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, WILMSLOW, SK9 5AF or https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/foi-and-eir-complaints/.
