Streetlight Inventory and CCTV for Bassetlaw (FOI/5594)

Thank you for your request for:

I am writing to request the following datasets under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for Bassetlaw.

The data will be used to power Safest Way: https://safestway.co.uk/ , a mobile journey planner tool for women to suggest safest walking routes at night.

Streetlighting Data Requested:
For all streetlights under your authority, please provide:
  1. Lamp post coordinates (Easting–Northing, or Latitude–Longitude)
  2. Lamp post location (street address, postcode)
  3. Light Type (e.g., LED, Halogen, Sodium Vapor)
  4. Wattage/Luminance Level
  5. Lighting Schedule (ON/OFF times if applicable)
  6. If the Lamp Post have an EV charging Outlet

Please accompany each light with a unique ID if possible.

CCTV Data Requested:
For all public-facing CCTV cameras under your authority, please provide:
  1.  Camera coordinates - (Easting–Northing, or Latitude–Longitude)
  2.  Camera location (street address & postcode)
  3.  Type of Camera (e.g., Fixed, PTZ, ANPR, 360-degree)
  4.  Mounting Location (e.g., street pole, building facade, traffic light)
  5.  Purpose of Camera (e.g., Crime prevention, Traffic monitoring, Public safety)

We assume that this data falls under the Open Government License (OGL). If this is not the case, could you please clarify the licensing terms and explain why this data is not available under OGL
If any part of this request exceeds cost limitations, please advise on how we might refine it to remain within the allowable limits. I would appreciate receiving this data in CSV, Excel, or GIS-compatible format if possible.

  • A CSV spreadsheet detailing the requested information in relation to streetlighting.  Please note we do not record postcodes for streetlights and none of our lamp posts have EV charging outlets.

Our data is not covered by the Open Government Licence as this has not been adopted by Nottinghamshire County Council and therefore our standard copyright terms below apply.
