Further to your request received I confirm that the Council has now considered your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
1) How many potholes were reported to the local authority in the financial year 2021/2022 – 9,232 (this is the number of customer reports with the subject as ‘Carriageway Pothole’)
2) How many potholes were reported in 2022/2023 – 14,885 (this is the number of customer reports with the subject as ‘Carriageway Pothole’)
3) How many potholes were reported in 2023/2024 – 26,464 (this is the number of customer reports with the subject as ‘Carriageway Pothole’)
Additional information for questions 4-6 –
Please note that the term "pothole" is used by the public to cover a range of concerns. We are providing data on jobs created specific to where a void has formed in the surface that requires a high priority (Category 1) response in accordance with Nottinghamshire County Council Highway Inspection and Risk Manual (https://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/media/1729316/highwayinspectionriskmanual.pdf)

To add context to the above, In 2023/24 the County Council delivered the following, that amounted to 465,532 m² of surface improvements, in addition to its smaller patching works:
- 24 full resurfacing schemes,
- 39 machine lay patching schemes,
- 291 Large Patching schemes and
- 36 Micro/Surface dressing schemes
