Further to your request received on  I confirm that the Council has now considered your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The current number of outstanding pothole repairs (i.e. reported but not yet fixed) as of the date this request is processed. – As of 16:30 on 15/04/26 there are 4081 potholes which have jobs waiting to be completed. Please note this figure is constantly changing as new jobs are raised and existing jobs are completed.
 
  1. The average time taken (in days) to repair potholes from the date of report, based on the most recent 3-month period available. - This information is not recorded
 
  1. The longest recorded waiting time for a pothole repair in the most recent 12 months. – This information is not recorded
 
  1. The number of potholes reported in:
    a) January–March 2025 – 7158 reports with a subject of Carriageway Pothole or Footway Pothole received 01/01/25 to 31/03/25
    b) January–March 2026 (or most recent equivalent period available) – 29,765 reports with a subject of Carriageway Pothole or Footway Pothole received 01/01/26 to 31/03/26
 
  1. The number of pothole repairs completed within target timescales in the most recent 12 months, and the number not completed within target timescales. – Information is not recorded in this way, we only monitor the number of jobs completed within the target time, not the number of potholes. See the table below that shows the percentage of jobs completed on time for the 2025-26 financial year, per priority level:

The number of potholes or road defects classified as requiring urgent or emergency repair in the most recent 12 months. – There were 171 jobs raised between 01/04/25 – 31/03/26 relating to potholes that required a 2-hour emergency response, as they met the criteria set out in the NCC Highway Inspection & Risk Manual, available here - https://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/transport/roads/highway-inspection-manual
 
  1. The number of occasions in the same period where roads were closed, or traffic management measures introduced, due to potholes or road surface defects. – This would exceed the 18-hour limit on staff time as the information is not recorded as an attribute which can be filtered/sorted, so we would need to check thousands of jobs manually.
