1. Number of 16–17-year-olds placed in supported accommodation during 2024/25 - 2025/26
The figures below represent unique individuals placed in supported accommodation during the relevant financial year and include Looked After Children, Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) and homeless 16/17-year-olds.- 2024/25: 270 individuals

3. Number of new supported accommodation placements commissioned during each year.
Nottinghamshire County Council has established long-term block contracts with a number of supported accommodation providers to meet the needs of young people aged 16 to 21, and up to age 25 for care leavers.
Placements are commissioned outside these block contracts only where there is no available capacity within the contracted provision, or where an out-of-area placement is required to meet a young person"s assessed needs.
The number of placements commissioned outside the Council"s block-contracted provision was:
- 2024/25: 19 placements
- 2025/26: 18 placements
The Council does not specifically record same-day placements. However, as a rule, young people requiring a same-day placement are accommodated within the Council"s emergency bed provision. The only recorded information held is therefore the number of individuals placed in emergency beds.

Nottinghamshire County Council has recently completed a procurement exercise for an element of its block contract commissioned supported accommodation service. The tender opportunity has now closed and, at present, the Council is not expecting any further tender opportunities for supported accommodation provision in the foreseeable future.

The figures below represent unique individuals placed in supported accommodation and include former Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC).
- 2024/25: 279 care leavers
- 2025/26: 271 care leavers
With regard to average weekly placement costs, the Council does not hold separate recorded information for care leavers aged 18–21. The Council can confirm that disclosure log response FOI/6324 relates to supported accommodation for young people aged 16–21 (or up to age 25 for care leavers). That response states that placement costs range from approximately £100 per week plus rent to £4,000 per week including rent, with an average cost of approximately £500 per week plus rent.
No more specific recorded information is held regarding average weekly placement costs for care leavers aged 18–21 during 2024/25 or 2025/26.
