The number of potholes reported in the last 3 years. Please provide the figure for each year (2022, 2023, 2024.)
The combined width of the potholes in meters for each year, again (2022, 2023, 2024.)
The average time in calendar days it takes to repair the potholes for each year (2022, 2023, 2024.)
How much is spent on repairing potholes each year Again, (2022, 2023, 2024.)
Total number of potholes reported to your authority, since you began recording this data.
How much money has been given to drivers as compensation due to poor road conditions in the past (2022, 2023, 2024.)

Thank you for your request for information relating to Pothole Information 2022, 2023, 2024.

We are now able to provide the following information in response to your questions.

1. The number of potholes reported in the last 3 years. Please provide the figure for each year (2022, 2023, 2024.)

Calendar Year
2022 = 11025
2023 = 17720
2024 = 24359

2. The combined width of the potholes in meters for each year, again (2022, 2023, 2024.)
We do not record dimensions of individual potholes; therefore, this data is not available.

3. The average time in calendar days it takes to repair the potholes for each year (2022, 2023, 2024.)
We are unable to provide information before April 2023 due to the information not being recorded in this way.

Calendar Year
April 2023 - Dec 2023 = 2.05 days
2024 = 1.39 days.

Please note that we find that the term "pothole" is used by the public to cover a range of concerns, from surface crazing and ride quality to actual defects. As many of these concerns do not transpire to what we identify as potholes, we are providing data on jobs created specific to where a void has formed in the surface that requires a high priority (Cat 1) response in accordance with Nottinghamshire County Council Highway Inspection and Risk Manual (Highway Inspection and Risk Manual | Nottinghamshire County Council).

4. How much is spent on repairing potholes each year Again, (2022, 2023, 2024.)
These costs are not recorded and form part of the wider maintenance budget.

5. Total number of potholes reported to your authority, since you began recording this data.

6. How much money has been given to drivers as compensation due to poor road conditions in the past (2022, 2023, 2024.)
2022 = £11,145.59
2023 = £46,135.86
2024 = £123,114.25
