Thank you for your request for information relating to Freedom of Information request - Flash flooding / Mental Health Absence / Potholes.

Flashing Flooding
• How many insurance liability claims have you received in the last three calendar years (2024, 2023, 2022) related to surface water flooding (i.e. flash flooding) For each year, please provide the number of claims received and the number paid out, including the total cost to the council and insurer.

Mental Health Absence
• If possible, please can you share how many primary school children are currently seeking help for mental health conditions (including stress, depression, anxiety etc.).  NCC do not hold this information, you would need to contact the schools direct or the NHS.
• If possible, please can you share how many secondary school aged children are currently seeking help for mental health conditions (including stress, depression, anxiety etc.)  NCC do not hold this information, you would need to contact the schools direct or the NHS.
• If possible, please can you share how many primary school aged children are currently waiting for help for mental health conditions (including stress, depression, anxiety etc.) and the average length of time children of this age are waiting for help (on average).  NCC do not hold this information, you would need to contact the schools direct or the NHS.
• If possible, please can you share how many secondary school aged children are currently waiting for help for mental health conditions (including stress, depression, anxiety etc.) and the average length of time children of this age are waiting for help (on average).  NCC do not hold this information, you would need to contact the schools direct or the NHS.

Potholes
• How many claims for pothole-related damage did the council receive from drivers in: 2024 (to date), 2023 and 2022 registered and number of potholes repaired
• How many claims resulted in the council paying out to drivers in: 2024 (to date), 2023 and 2022
• How much has the council paid out to drivers in: 2024 (to date), 2023 and 2022
• If possible, can you provide the average length of time it has taken to repair potholes in 2024.
• If possible, can out provide the number of potholes that you are aware of that need repairing

Please note, the term "pothole" is used by the public to cover a range of concerns, from surface crazing and ride quality to actual defects. As many of these concerns do not transpire to what we identify as potholes, we are providing data on number of jobs completed specific to where a void has formed in the surface that requires a high priority (Category 1) response in accordance with Nottinghamshire County Council Highway Inspection and Risk Manual - Highway Inspection and Risk Manual | Nottinghamshire County Council.

Category 1 defect repairs

End of September 2024 (figures are updated quarterly) = 65912.


• If possible, can you provide the average length of time it has taken to repair potholes in 2024.
The average length of time to repair a Category 1 defect in 2024 is 1.22 days.

• If possible, can out provide the number of potholes that you are aware of that need repairing
As of end of play 12/12/2024 there were 80 outstanding Category 1 jobs. Pleas note, this figure will change on a daily basis due to Category 1 jobs requiring a repair by the end of the following working day.
