Further to your request received on 14th October 2025, I confirm that the Council has now considered your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Questions)

1.  How many potholes were reported to the council in the financial years 2024-25 and for the financial year 2025-26 so far 

2.  How many pothole claims were made in the financial years 2024-25 and for the financial year 2025-26 so far. Please could you provide a breakdown of how many claims were accepted, how many were declined, and how much money has been paid out in compensation claims 

Answers)

1. 
2024/25 FY = 17,442 customer reports related to carriageway potholes.


2025/26 FY (Up to 30/09/25) = 4,091 customer reports related to carriageway   potholes.
