I am requesting the following information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000:

From the latest School Census available (January 2024 and/or January 2025), please provide:

• The number of pupils in Nottinghamshire schools (Reception to Year 6 inclusive) who are recorded as having an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan.  
• The number of pupils in Nottinghamshire schools (Reception to Year 6 inclusive) who are recorded as receiving SEN Support (without an EHC plan).

Please provide totals separately for each category.

Includes pupils in years R-6 in all schools (primary, secondary, special and non-maintained special schools).

 NOTE: As the request askes for latest School Census available and Nottinghamshire Schools, the above data is not exhaustive or representative of the total EHCPs held by Nottinghamshire.
  • School Census data only includes primary, secondary, special and non-maintained special schools. Therefore, it excluded any INM, EOTAS pupils on AP, NEET, EHE and out of county placements in any type of educational setting.
  • Nottinghamshire Schools reporting to the school census on number of SEN and EHCP will include pupils with EHCPs who live out of county but are attending the Nottinghamshire school.
  • Nottinghamshire place/name multiple types of educational settings in EHCPs that are outside of the LA, which are not included in the census.
