Thank you for your email of 24th October 2025 where you requested information about Teacher injuries - 2024/25. The response to your request is provided below.
In your request you asked:
In the last financial year 2024/2025 please provide me with the number of settlements and the total amount paid as compensation to teachers or teaching assistants for injuries sustained at schools or outside schools. For each incident please provide me with the amount of compensation, costs and a summary of the claim.
Please clearly indicate any incidents where compensation was made to staff as a result of an injury sustained from an attack by a pupil, or in an incident when trying to restrain a violent pupil.

Please note: Nottinghamshire County Council’s Local Authority Maintained Schools transferred to the Department of Educations Risk Protection Arrangement (RPA) scheme as of the 1 April 2022. Therefore, although the Council continues to deal with claims where the incident occurred prior to the 1 April 2022 any incidents occurring from the 1 April 2022 will be dealt with by the RPA.
