Thank you for your request for information relating to Individuals who have been referred to the Prevent Programme between 5 July 2025 and 5 November 2025..
We are now able to provide the following information:
Nottinghamshire Council consider the request in full as exempt under the following sections;-
Section 24(1) provides that information which does not fall within section 23(1) of FOIA is exempt information, if exemption from section 1(1)(b) is required for the purposes of safeguarding national security. (Section 1(1)(b) is the duty to communicate.)
Section 24(2) provides an exemption from the duty to confirm or deny whether information is held, where the exemption is required for the purposes of safeguarding national security.

Both exemptions in section 24 are subject to the public interest test. Having considered these, please see below.
Public interest considerations favouring disclosure
There is a public interest in investigations and disclosure of this information would improve public confidence in the prevent team just through being as transparent as possible regarding the release of this information.
Public interest considerations favouring non-disclosure
Release of the information would have the effect of compromising law enforcement processes and would also hinder the ability of the prevent services to fulfil its primary aim of enforcing the law would make the UK or its citizens more vulnerable to a national security threat.
As such we consider any disclosure if held non disclosable and outweighs the rights of public access.
