NCC legal staff do not handle insurance claims. These claims are handled inhouse by the Risk and Insurance team and therefore we are unable to identify the specific costs associated with the administration of these specific claims as this is only one part of the work the team undertake. The Council only incurs legal costs when a claim litigates. Once litigated instructions will be given to the Council’s external legal partners to take on the handling of the claim on the Council’s behalf.

–All inspections are completed in a uniform approach by inspectors, following criteria set out in the NCC Highway Inspection & Risk Manual (HIRM) which is linked here - https://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/transport/roads/highway-inspection-manual

We trust this now satisfies your request and that you find this information to be helpful, however if you are unhappy with the way in which your request has been handled, then please email us at foi@***** quoting the reference FOI/7155 and we will be happy to review your request
