Thank you for your email of 14 February 2025 where you requested information about misconduct by trade union reps since 2022.

The information you requested is:

Since the 2022 financial year how many cases of misconduct have there been by trade union reps - NIL

What is your policy in dealing with misconduct by trade union reps – Misconduct by trade union reps would be dealt with in the same was as any misconduct by following our Disciplinary Procedure.  The only difference in the procedure is this point:


3.3 Although the usual disciplinary standards must apply to trade union representatives, no disciplinary action will be taken against an employee who is an accredited trade union representative, nor will suspension normally be applied until the circumstances of the case have been notified to a full time or other nominated official of the union concerned.

Is the data you are supplying for all misconduct cases or those which are formerly recorded – All cases that have been subject to our Disciplinary Procedure.
