Our service is outsourced to the British Red Cross; we have the credit model for standard catalogue and stock ownership for specials. Plus, we provide minor adaptations.

Question 4: How do you manage people moving in and out of county with community equipment
We usually observe the NAEP cross borders guidance.  We aim to talk to the new area to discuss which items they are happy to continue supporting and agree a recharge (after depreciation) it depends on the equipment, if its electrical items no service advocates moving these due to concerns about movement, safe set and ongoing servicing and maintenance.  Movement of lower level equipment tends to be standard.

Question 5: What is your process for ordering non-standard / special stock
We have specials practice guidance for the whole service and standardised order forms, along with eligibility criteria. Prescribers make a clinical need assessment and submit a request which is checked, goes to multi partner panel if over financial threshold for consideration. If approved, our contractors process the request.

Question 6: How do you operate your weekend / out of hours equipment service
Our service is commissioned 7 days a week, operating from 8am to midnight. Customer Services is open 7 days; with an emergency calls cover for bank holidays and evenings.
