Thank you for your request for information relating to records deposited from District Probate Registries:
A) All information relating to the deposit of probate records that have been deposited at Nottinghamshire Archives from any current or former District Probate Registry. If the original paperwork completed upon deposit is held, please provide a copy of this.
Attached are copies of our accession documents and related correspondence. This is our formal record of the transfer of the records to our custody. Accession references are allocated to all incoming collections, which are subsequently replaced by formal catalogue references which appear in our online catalogue. Please note redactions are applied from 2011 to signatures only.

Accession 394: deposited 4 Nov 1960 from District Probate Registry at York, via Principal Probate Registry, London – Peculiar Court of Kinoulton, 22 wills, inventory and index, 1730-1765 (original catalogue reference: DD/PR/K, now PR/K)) The enquiry does not relate to pre-1858 wills, but this is included for your information for completeness.
Accession 455: deposited 18 Apr 1962 – Nottingham Probate Registry – Probate Act Books, Abstracts of wills and indexes, originally catalogued as: DD/PR/ND/1-96 – reference changed over time to P/ND/1
Accession 1118: deposited 18 Jan 1972 from Nottingham District Probate Registry - 42 volumes of probate grants, 1880-1921 – document reference P/ND/2
Accession 3437: deposited 1986 by Nottingham District Probate Registry – 48 volumes of the calendars of probate and letters of administration compiled by various district registries, 1929-1936 – these records were disposed of following acquisitions of microfiche copies due to search-room space and a refurbishment (see also Acc 5090 below)
Accession 5090 deposited 1996 by Nottingham Probate Registry – 318 volumes of probate calendars for England and Wales, 1940-1968. These records were disposed of as the information is readily available online. As an archive we would not usually duplicate holdings of other bodies, especially where we do not have copies of the original documents. We do not hold copies of post-1858 probate documents.

If any of the deposited records, or parts of them, are still under the control of the High Court, please provide the document references and any other relevant information.
The information we have is included in the answers to A and B above. We have no other relevant information. The National Archives are the expert body on Public Records. The indices were held primarily for the convenience of archives customers at a time when online access was not available.
