Dear *********,
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 – REQUEST FOR INFORMATION REFERENCE FOI/8002
Thank you for your request for information relating to Overseas Working FOI.
We are now able to provide the following information:
For the 2025/26 financial year and the 2026/27 financial year to date:
1. The number of council employees who were granted permission to work from outside the UK.
2. A breakdown of those approvals by country, where held.
3. The total number of approved working days from outside the UK, where held.
4. The number of employees approved to work outside of the UK on a permanent or open ended basis.
5. Please provide the current policy document governing requests by council employees to work from outside the UK.
I am writing to advise you that the information you request is not held by this authority. The Council does not generally allow employees to work from abroad. Where agreements to work from abroad have been made these will be at the discretion of management and within ICT, Data Protection and Legal guidelines. We do not hold a central record of individuals who have been permit staff to work from abroad for a short period.
Along with a recent response on our public disclosure log under FOIR-4750 I have attached some guidance NCC staff all adhere to.
We trust this now satisfies your request and that you find this information to be helpful, however if you are unhappy with the way in which your request has been handled, then please email us at [email protected] quoting the reference FOI/8002 and we will be happy to review your request
