Thank you for your request for information relating to persons in a position of trust:
I request the following information held by Nottinghamshire County Council in relation to the Persons in a Position of Trust (PiPoT) process. Please provide data for the last five full financial years (2019/20 through 2023/24) and the current year to date:
1. PiPoT referrals a" substance involvement
The total number of PiPoT referrals recorded where substance use was cited as a factor.
Please break this down by substance type (e.g. cannabis, alcohol, prescribed controlled drugs such as opioids/benzodiazepines, other illicit drugs).
The Council does not hold this information, it is only held by the employers of any person about whom there are concerns that fall under the PiPoT description. They would refer to the guidance and take necessary steps as they saw fit.
2. Prescribed cannabis cases
Of the referrals involving cannabis, the number where the cannabis was lawfully prescribed in the UK as a cannabis-based medicinal product (CBMP).
The Council does not hold this information, it is only held by the employers of any person about whom there are concerns that fall under the PiPoT description. They would refer to the guidance and take necessary steps as they saw fit.
3. Other prescribed medication
The number of referrals where any prescribed medication (including controlled drugs under Schedules 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001) was a factor. Please list by substance where available.
The Council does not hold this information, it is only held by the employers of any person about whom there are concerns that fall under the PiPoT description. They would refer to the guidance and take necessary steps as they saw fit.
4. Outcomes
For referrals involving prescribed cannabis (CBMPs), please provide outcome categories used (e.g. no action, monitoring, restriction, suspension, dismissal, ongoing, equivalentequivalent terms).

5. Policy and guidance documents

b) Prescription medication more generally (including controlled drugs)
