FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 – REQUEST FOR INFORMATION REFERENCE FOI/5715

Thank you for your request for information relating to Reported incidences to local authority of pothole damage.

We are now able to provide the following information:

  1. The total number of reported incidences of pothole damage to LCVs and vans between 3,000 and 3,500kg in 2024, that required vehicle repairs.
Risk and Insurance do not record the number of reported incidents we only record the number of claims for compensation. Not every member of the public who damages their vehicle on a pothole will submit a claim for compensation. When we do receive a claim we do not record details of the type of vehicle.
 
  1. The total number of reported incidences of pothole damage to cars in 2024, that required vehicle repairs.
