Thank you for your request for information relating to Public health services..

We are now able to provide the following information:

 
1 - How many children received childhood obesity public health service support in the financial years a) 2015/16 b) 2020/21 c) 2024/25
a)  2015/16 The service provider at this time was commissioned to deliver tier 2 and tier 3 services for children and young people.  33 children/young people were supported in tier 2 and 74 children/young people were supported in tier 3.   
b) 2020/21 Due to the COVID pandemic response and restrictions, the children and young people healthy weight offer was paused, and no delivery took place.   
c) 2024/25 Children and young people were supported through the provision detailed below:
·       FAB (Food, Activity & Balance) - Healthy weight tier 2 offer (for children and young people meeting BMI eligibility criteria): 18 children/young people (aged 4-15 years) maintained or reduced their BMIz score at completion of intervention.
·       FAB School Roadshows - Nutrition and physical activity programme delivered in schools: 12 schools received delivery of intervention (schools were prioritised based on local NCMP data)
·       Food Explorers -Targeted offer for families with young children (aged 2 years +) focusing on establishing healthy and balanced eating from a young age: 28 families attended the sessions
·       Active Explorers - Universal (no BMI criteria) healthy eating and movement/activity offer offered to existing provision e.g. sports clubs or after school clubs: Piloted in 3 clubs during 2024/25


2 - Does your council provide a weight management service for children  If not, when did this service cease to be provided
Yes.

3 - How many staff supported your weight management service for children in the financial years a) 2015/16 b) 2020/21 c) 2024/25
a) 2015/16 This information is not available.
b) 2020/21 Due to the COVID pandemic response and restrictions, the children and young people healthy weight offer was paused, and no delivery took place
c) 2024/25 Healthy weight support for children and young people is provided through our commissioned all-age Integrated Wellbeing Service. There is one Full Time Equivalent Family Weight Management Specialist who leads the development and delivery of the offer for children and young people (as described above in 1c).  Other Healthy Lifestyle Advisors (4 in total) are trained to work with children, young people and their families, however their posts are not dedicated to children and young people support and they do this alongside other work with adults. 


4 - How many children in your council area participated in the National Child Measurement Programme in the financial years a) 2015/16 b) 2020/21 c) 2024/25

a) 2015/16 =17,633
b) 2020/21 = 2,100 (Covid impacted data as samples were measured)
c) 2024/25= 16,964
 
5 - How many 0-5 year old children received speech and language service support in the financial years a) 2015/16 b) 2020/21 c) 2024/25
 Speech and language service support for children and young people is primarily commissioned by Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB - this question would be more appropriately addressed to the ICB.
Nottinghamshire County Council does commission a targeted early intervention speech, language, and communication needs service for children aged 2 to 2 years 6 months, these commissioning arrangements have changed across the identified period, meaning that data can’t be compared directly. The data that is available is provided below.

a) 2015-16: This data is not available.
b) 2021-21: 818 children.
c) 2024-25: A snapshot of the number of children on the caseload is taken at the end of every quarter. The average caseload across the year was 605. (Please note this does not represent the total number of children supported).

7 - How many air monitors were deployed outside schools in your council area in the financial years a) 2015/16 b) 2020/21 c) 2024/25
