Disclosure Log

External HR / Workplace Investigation Services (FOI/8512)

Message from Nottinghamshire County Council - 14 October 2026

Thank you for your request for information relating to External HR / Workplace Investigation Services.

The Council has made enquiries with its Human Resources and Procurement teams, which confirmed that the information requested is not recorded centrally.

Any relevant information would be held within individual departments and service areas across the Council. To establish what information is held, the Council would need to contact all 16 directorates, which would in turn need to consult their respective service areas. Information falling within the scope of your request would then need to be identified, located, retrieved and extracted.

The Council has 57 service areas. Based on the enquiries that would be required to determine whether relevant information is held, we estimate that responding to your request would take in excess of 25 hours. At the statutory rate of £25 per hour, as set out in the Freedom of Information and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulations 2004, this would amount to a cost of at least £625.

The Council is therefore exempt from providing this information under Section 12(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, as the estimated cost of compliance exceeds the appropriate limit of £450.

In accordance with Section 16 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, the Council has considered what advice and assistance can be provided to help you reframe or refocus your request so that it may fall within the cost limit.

You may wish to submit a more focused request by limiting it to a particular financial year, department, directorate or service area. A narrower request may enable the Council to consider the information sought without exceeding the appropriate limit, although this cannot be guaranteed. Any refined request will be treated as a new request for the purposes of the Act.

You have the right to ask us to review this decision.  If you wish to do so or you are unhappy about the way your request was handled, then please email  and we will be happy to review your request.

For future reference, Nottinghamshire County Council regularly publishes previous FOI requests and answers on its website, under Disclosure logs, that may provide details relating to your query. (see link)
