Thank you for your email of 24th October 2024 where you requested information about Trauma Informed Policies. A response to your request is provided below:
In your request you asked:
Please answer the following questions specified in (1) - (2) below concerning your (possible) involvement in the elaboration (and implementation) of a ‘trauma-informed" strategy equivalent within your Authority"s area.
1) Has your Authority taken any action to:
a. develop and /adopt a ‘trauma-informed" policy, strategy guidance equivalent (as outlined above) If so, please provide a copy (in printed electronic form) of the relevant document(s); and
b. implement such a policy, strategy, guidance equivalent If so, please provide a brief summary of actions of this kind: examples of implementation work could include the development of a staff training programme; the development of a specific website and /the appointment of staff to support such an implementation programme.
The County Council does not have a trauma-informed policy.
We have Our Nottinghamshire Approach framework Our Nottinghamshire Approach which refers to how the council endeavours to become more trauma-informed in our approach. We also have a one minute guide which describes Our Nottinghamshire Approach alongside trauma-informed principles; one-minute-guide-trauma-informed-principles.pdf.
Some staff at the council have also attended Trauma-informed implementation meetings organised by the Violence Reduction Partnership and they have a strategy which we, by nature of being in the partnership, support.
2) Has your Authority involved / consulted with families of disabled children in the development and /adoption of such a policy, strategy, guidance equivalent If it has, please provide details of how such families were consulted and when the consultation took place.
