Thank you for your email of 18th February 2026 where you requested information about School Crossing Patrols. The response to your request is provided below.
 
In your request you asked:
 
  1. The number of school crossing patrols provided by Nottinghamshire County Council in the following financial years: 2021/22, 2022/23, 2023/24, 2024/25, 2025/26.
 
This function is carried out by Via East Midlands Ltd on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council with the following provided each year :-
2021/22 – 73 as of 24/6/21
2022/23 – 68 average (70 as of 7/3/22 and 66 as of Sept 2022)
2023/24 – 62 as of 19/5/23
2024/25 – 61 as of 5/4/24
2025/26 – 61 average (62 as of 15/5/25 and 59 as of 23/2/26, but 2 new starters circa 2/3/26)
 
Please note - “Number fluctuates throughout the year due to starters and leavers. The record is held on a live database that does not store records of previous patrol numbers, only the current number.” The numbers provided have been given as an estimate of current numbers held on database and previous numbers given.
 
  1. How much money Nottinghamshire County Council has spent on school crossing patrols in the following financial years: 2021/22, 2022/23, 2023/24, 2024/25, 2025/26.
