Thank you for your request for information relating to CCTV cameras:
1. Please can you tell me how many CCTV cameras the local authority operates and how many of these are produced by Chinese companies. Please can you show this as two figures.
See table below.
Nottinghamshire County Council does not keep records regarding the countries that CCTV system manufacturers are based in. FOI legislation does not oblige authorities to conduct research or create new information. However, we can disclose details of which companies our camera systems have been purchased from, where the manufacturer’s name is on record, in order for you to check for yourself.

There are no cameras in use by the Council that use facial recognition.
