Thank you for your email of 27 September 2024 where you requested information about our complaints advocacy services.

The information you requested is:
 
  1. The value of the contract your local authority awarded for independent NHS complaints advocacy services in the following financial years:
 
  1. 2019/20 (1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020)             £908,210.04
  2. 2010/21 (1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021)             £908,210.04
  3. 2021/22 (1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022)             £908,210.04
  4. 2022/23 (1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023)             £908,210.04
  5. 2023/24 (1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024)             £933,104.94


Nottinghamshire County Council does provide the provision of Independent Health Complaints Advocacy (NHS complaints)

However, we don’t have a contract awarded specifically for NHS complaints. This offer is held within the contract for Statutory Advocacy Service provision (including Care Act, Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA), Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) , Independent Health Complaints Advocacy (NHS complaints) , Relevant Persons Representative Advocacy (RPPR) and is a joint contract between Nottinghamshire County Council & Nottingham City Council.

The above figures represent the total value of the Advocacy contracts for each year.
 
  1. Does your local authority currently provide or commission a dedicated complaints advocacy service to support people to make complaints about adult social care

Nottinghamshire County Council does not provide or commission a dedicated complaints Advocacy service to support people to make complaints about adult social care, however we do have a service just not a dedicated service.
 
  1. If so, how much funding was allocated to this service in the following financial years:
    1. 2019/20 (1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020)
    2. 2020/21 (1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021)
    3. 2021/22 (1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022)
    4. 2022/23 (1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023)
    5. 2023/24 (1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024)
