A managed move is an agreement between two schools to transition a child into a new school setting.
Within the Nottinghamshire Fair Access Protocol: "The process of managed moves falls outside the scope of fair access legislation and will therefore only apply if individual locality panels have specifically agreed to develop secure procedures to facilitate such transfers in their area and the parent agrees to participate in that process."
The Fair Access Team records all managed moves and off-site directions taking place between schools that are reported at locality panel meetings.

3. Details of how managed moves are recorded

The Fair Access Team records managed moves taking place between schools centrally within the School Admissions system.
Information is shared with the Fair Access Team by schools through locality Fair Access Panel meetings, where it is subsequently recorded on the central system.

Are schools required to report managed moves to the authority

Schools are expected to notify the Fair Access Team of managed moves through the locality Fair Access Panel process. Information is shared with the Fair Access Team at locality panel meetings, where it is then recorded centrally.
As the Council relies on information being provided by schools, records may not always be fully up to date at the point the data is extracted or reported.
