Message from Nottinghamshire County Council - 18 June 2026

Dear *********,

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 – REQUEST FOR INFORMATION REFERENCE FOI/8034

Thank you for your request for information relating to Car Parking Revenue.

We are now able to provide the following information:

For the last financial year (2025 / 2026) I would like to request the following information regarding revenue received by the County Council with regards to car parking.

1) How much revenue was gained by charging the public for car parking at County Hall, West Bridgford for sporting events i.e. Nottingham Forest / cricket matches

£113,482.82

2) How much revenue was gained by charging the public for on-street parking in West Bridgford that was commissioned in May 2025

£176,720
The on street pay and display scheme is designed to increase short-stay turnover of parking supply in West Bridgford town centre to support the local economy. Any income received from this is ring fenced under S55 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act to fund the primarily fund the provision of the service and should there be a surplus in the future after this funding is met, this can be allocated to highway, environmental or transport improvements. No surplus has been identified to date to be allocated against any such provision

3) How much of the above revenue (1 & 2) has been used to fund improvements to public transport to reduce the need to park at County Hall / West Bridgford.

None of the income generated from the schemes mentioned is used to invest in public transport.

4) What specific improvements have been made to public transport to reduce the need for people to drive into West Bridgford for sporting fixtures / shopping / eating out etc.
